Laurene left behind a business career to pursue passion for the urban environment, wild spaces, diverse community, and non-profit activism. She is currently the Executive Director and Co-Chair of Climate Action Santa Monica, founded at the CIOP eleven years ago, where she applies her 25+ years of building nonprofits to try to nurture a climate movement that will face the big challenges locally with strength, creativity, and love. She is enthusiastic about the interfaith welcoming activism that is part of the CIOP and tries to live by these values.
