Community Gathering:

Responding to Hate Crime

Sunday, March 22nd: 1:00-4:00pm

 

Anti-LGBTQ+ hate recently struck the Church in Ocean Park with homophobic graffiti disguised as bible quotes. In response, CiOP is hosting a Community Gathering for Reflection and Response (and painting) on Sunday, March 22 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at 235 Hill Street, Santa Monica.

 

 

We’ll be painting over the offensive words on the walls outside - while convening a safe space for reflection, response, and conversation inside. The Church in Ocean Park invites everyone - individuals and community groups - to join us in standing up to hate in all its forms and responding with kindness and compassion. Hate does not have the last word here!
